The next night I wanted to take some nice photos and experiment with lights and makeup (I wasn't wearing any when I got out of the shower in the photos above, obviously). Taking self portraits in focus is also basically the most difficult thing about these kinds of shoots, but here's what I managed.
Something incredibly odd but equally as pleasing happened to a number of these photos when I imported them to Blogger. The contrast is amped up, and they look super grainy (whoa there colour noise) compared to when I view them on my computer. Nevertheless, I'm loving it. This is like a lead up to the eventual Cindy Sherman photoshoots I'll be doing for my photography finals.
These photos are totally unedited. I was tempted to start playing around with contrast or levels or curves, but honestly this right now is killin' it.
outfit:
bolero jacket: Bettie Page
top: PacSun
makeup:
lips: OCC Lip Tar in RX and Stalker
eyes: Bare Minerals eyeshadow in 'high shine vapor' and Smashbox cream liner in 'Nightlife"
And I played in the mirror as I always do. The effect that those seemingly hundred-pound Cindy Sherman books I had in the room with me at the time is pretty evident here.
Bonus: I just realized how Lorde-like this is. I love it.
